CH down Air Force 26-17

CH and FC overcome Air Force in a closely fought out Dialog rugby second round fixture by 26 points to 17 at the Race Course ground yesterday.

CH scored four tries and three conversions and in reply Air Force scored three tries and a conversion.

CH took a comfortable 12-5 lead at half time as Air Force scored first thrugh a try by Lahiru Udayanga. Skipper Gayantha Iddamalgoda failed with the conversion.

CH opened their scoring in the 36th minute when Prasath Madushanka touched down by the right corner and Hirusha Sampath failed to convert from a difficult angle.

CH went ahead when former Isipathana skipper Kushan Indunil scored a good try and Sampath made no mistake with the conversion to lead 12-5. On resumption of the second half CH went into action and scored their third try through Chathura Dilshan who received a pass from Prasad Madushanka. Sampath converted again to increase their tally 19-5.

Air Force scored their second try through Lahiru Udayanga in the 58th minute and CH followed it up with another try by Rayan Weerakoon. The conversion was made by Rohitha Rajapaksa to give them the extra points.

Towards the latter stages of the game the Airmen scored a try through Pathmasanka Weerasinghe and the conversion was made by Iddamalgoda.
