As a prelude to the reopening of schools closed due to the spread of the Covid 19 pandemic, the Eastern Province Education Ministry Secretary, I.K.G. Muthubanda visited the schools in the Akkaraipattu Education Zone recently.
The team visited Addalaichenai Central College (National School), Addalaichenai Al-Muneera Girls’ High School, Pottuvil Al-Kalam Vidyalaya and Pottuvil Al-Bahriya Vidyalaya which come under the preview of the Akkaraipattu Educational Zone.
A special fund has been launched for the upkeep schools in accordance with the guidelines of the Health Authorities and the Education Ministry. Principals have been advised to be prepared to reopen schools at short notice.
Akkaraipattu Zonal Education Director, A.M. Rahmathullah, Deputy Education Director (Admin) A.G. Fasmil and officials of the Education Department accompanied the Secretary.
