Skipper of Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, Muditha Premadasa, became the first batsman to go past the 1000-run milestone in the current U-19 division one schools cricket season.

The left handed batsman and wicket keeper has the distinction of having scored three centuries and six half tons from 25 innings. His highest score was 197 runs against Devapathiraja College, Rathgama.

This is also a repeat of last season’s milestone when he scored 1017 runs with a highest score of 153 against Richmond.

His consistent performances opened the doors for him to be picked to the U-19 pool for the Indian tour of Sri Lanka and the tour of Sri Lanka by the Bangladesh team.

He has represented the College first XI team for four years and was also selected to play in the under-19 Inter-Provincial tournament in 2017.

He started his career playing in the under-13 ‘B’ team (Division 3) in 2013. He then led the under-13 ‘A’ team in 2014 and was adjudicated best player in the under-13 inter-school Division One tournament when he scored 1251 runs and claimed 34 victims as wicket keeper.

Muditha led the under-17 team in 2018.
