All set to reopen schools

Arrangements have been made for reopening schools following the Covid-19 outbreak, announced the Education Ministry.

Ministry further stated that, the Disinfection of schools, preparation of timetables and other required measures required for resuming academic activities at schools were carried out last week.

The students will return on July 6, 20 and 27 based on their grades.

Under the first stage,  Principals, teachers and other staff in Sri Lanka returned to schools on Monday (June 29) after three months of lockdown imposed in the country to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the students in Grades 5, 11 and 13 will have to attend schools from July 6 at the second stage.

The third stage will begin on July 20 for students in Grade 10 and 12. It will continue until July 24.

The fourth stage will begin on July 27 for Grade 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9.
