A fire broke out at a textile shop along the W.A Silva Mawatha junction in Wellawatta this morning causing damage to several adjoining shops in its vicinity.
Police said the textile shop caught fire around 11:45 am today and due to the its magnitude and likelihood of it spreading , five fire engines had to be deployed to douse the fire.
Although no casualties or injuries have been reported, police are still investigating the case of the fire.
