Volleyball to restart in October

Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVF) has decided to halt all their activities temporally until end of October. According to a senior official of the SLVF the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship which was scheduled to be held from November 25 to December 5 in China has been postponed by the Asian Olympic Council.

This Asian tournament was the second international event for this year and the Sri Lankan beach volleyball men and women pools were training for it at the Heiyantuduwa Beach. The Volleyball National championship and the Gold Cup President’s Volleyball tournament have also been postponed for October. Altogether ten local tournaments have been cancelled.

A senior official of the SLVF pointed out that with the current situation there are no activities for players and Federation officials until end of October.

However, the AGM of the SLVF will be held on August 22 at the Sports Ministry and the Federation is planning to conduct special workshops for coaches all over the country.
