The Hela Urumaya General Secretary Ven. Omalpe Sobitha Thera has requested the authorities to destroy drugs taken into police custody in public after related legal procedure so that the people will know what happened to the seized drugs.
He said some officials who nab drug traffickers have become drug dealers.
As such to win the confidence of the people, drugs seized should be destroyed in public.
The Thera said that the work of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa towards the people are excellent as such he must be hailed and adored.
His name will be written in letters of gold for bravely facing drug traffickers and gangsters.
