FERNANO - PHILIP (Former Deputy-Editor and Jounalist at Daily News and Sunday Observer,​ Lake House Colombo,​ Sri Lanka),​ It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing away of Philip Fernando,​ born on May 1st 1934 in Sri Lanka and the eldest son of Anna Fernando and Cyril Mathias (CM) Fernando. He spent his first 43 years in Sri Lanka,​ and the next 43 years in the USA. He passed away peacefully at home in Torrance,​ California on January 14th,​ 2021,​ and is now in the loving arms of Jesus. Philip was preceded in death by his Mother and Father and his youngest brother Thilak. He is survived by his younger brother Cassian (Cynthia) and sister Sumana (Leslie) and sister-in-law,​ Shyamila,​ all residing in Moratuwa. He is survived by his beloved wife,​ Celine,​ two sons Ranil (Noely) and Mahen (Thilini) and three daughters,​ Anne Samarawickrama (Prasanna),​ Melissa Guanawardena (Sanjay),​ and Marlie Abrahams (Andrew) and eight grandchildren (Tyler,​ Kyle,​ Issabella,​ Mathhew,​ Samantha,​ Dylan,​ Shasha and Emily) all residing in USA. NALLIAH - SAMUEL THURAINDRAN NALLIAH (UK) - Beloved husband of Michele and loving father of Shanthie (Vanessa) Graham and Rohan (Philip),​ father-in-law of Pete Graham and precious grandfather of Louie Graham passed away on January 8,​ 2021 and has gone to be with the Lord. He also leaves behind his brothers Deva (Daniel) (Canada),​ Kumaran (Shirley) (Austria),​ Mahen (Ernest) (Australia) and Chutta (Arthur) (Canada) Nalliah and his aut Mallikai Chinnakone (SL) cousin sisters Devika and Perly Chinnakone (SL) Cousin brother Ernie Chinnakone (Dubai). Samuel is the eldest son of the late Dr. A.T Nalliah and Indrani Nalliah (nee Saravanamuttu). Funeral will be held on January 26,​ 2021 in UK.004335

PEIRIS - CARMEN - Loving wife of late Lylie (V.L.M),​ daughter of late Charles and Violet Perera,​ loving mother of Laknath (UK),​ Lalaka and Lohan (USA),​ mother-in-law of Roshini and Yamuna,​ loving grandmother of Lakmali (NTB) and Sonali,​ sister of Cynthia and aunt of Sunethra. Remains will lie at A F Raymond Funeral Parlour from 8.30 a.m. on Saturday 23rd January. Cortege leaves Funeral Parlour at 2.45 p.m. on Sunday 24th January for burial at Christ Church,​ Dehiwela at 3.30 p.m.006161

Adoring grandmother of Alexander and Priya Courtenay,​ and Sahar and Syon Vasquez. Mother in law of the late David Courtenay and Jules Vasquez (Belize). Loving sister of the late Nirmala Balaratnam and Dr. Leela Muthuveloe (UK). Sister-in-law of MR. S. Balaratnam (Sri Lanka) and Dr. Dan Muthuveloe (UK),​ passed away peacefully at home in Belize,​ on Sunday 15th of November. Cremation according to Hindu rites took place on Tuesday 17th November 2020.005973
