The operations of three new Presidential Commissions of Inquiry (PCoI) will commence next month.
Accordingly, a PCoI will submit recommendations on streamlining Sri Lanka Customs. The other PCoI will probe alleged human rights violations, serious violations of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and other such offences in Sri Lanka and a PCoI to implement the recommendations of the Presidential Commission which probed alleged incidents of political victimisation will begin operations next month. Although members were appointed to these Commissions, they are yet to commence recording evidence. However, the PCoI probing alleged human rights violations has started to accept complaints. The public can direct complaints to the Commission till April 2.
