Cloudy skies expected over southern part of the island

Cloudy skies can expect over southern half of the island, stated the Department of Meteorology.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-western and Central provinces and in Galle, Matara and Mannar districts during the evening or night. Fairly heavy falls above 75 mm can be expected at some places in the above areas. 

Showers will occur in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Hambanthota district.  Showers will occur in the coastal areas of Galle and Matara districts during the morning too. 

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
