Amber weather advisory issued

An AMBER weather advisory was issued for severe lightning by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Center for the period until 10.30 p.m. (28).

The statement stated that thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and North–western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

The general public is urged to remain indoors and not use electric appliances during the thunderstorms.
