28 March, 2021

Minister of Energy, Udaya Gammanpila said that the Suez Canal ‘Traffic Jam’ will not affect Sri Lanka’s fuel supply.

The Minister said fuel will be sourced to Sri Lanka from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman in the Gulf region of the Middle East in the future and Sri Lanka already has stocks for a period of 14 days.

He further said that fuel should not be disturbed and overfilled, otherwise it could become an artificial fuel shortage.
