Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) will be busy during this month preparing to cater to the golfing fraternity who will be up in the hills to beat the heat in Colombo.
They will be conducting the NEGC foursome on April 9, the Captain’s Cup on April 10, the President’s Cup on April 11 and the Aitken Cup on April 10 and 11.
The Captain’s Cup is being played for the 123rd year. The Ladies Cup will also be played simultaneously. This will be the first time that the NEGC foursome will be played where two golfers will play as a team and the winners will be selected from the pair who obtain the best Stableford score. Gift packs will be presented to every golfer along with prizes to the longest drive and closest to the pin according to the organisers while the winners will be given vouches for the weekend. There will also be prizes in the Chipping and Putting contest that will be held every afternoon and the best dressed golfer will also receive prizes.
The tournaments will be sponsored by Wurth, Legends and Dialog. (TBR)
