The traditional oil anointing for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year was held at Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s official residence at the auspicious time of 7.16 a.m yesterday. Viharadhipathi of the historic Madanwala Rajamaha Vihara Rajakeeya Panditha Shasthrapathi Ven. Wellagiriya Sumangala Thera performed the traditional oil anointing on the Prime Minister at the auspicious time and invoked blessings on him.
