18 April, 2021

might be notorious for his remixes and alternative videos, but he has once more outdone himself. Over the weekend, the superstar dropped the third official video for his latest release, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” alongside a vibey lo-fi remix of the song. (The second one came in the form of a behind-the-scenes video.)

Titled “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) but it’s lofi and something you can study to lol,” the video premiered on April 9 to coincide with his 22nd birthday and it’s guaranteed to cure all your blues — whether you listen to it while studying, working, showering, or just chilling. The producers, both in tandem and on their own, have lo-fied plenty of chart-topping and popular songs – from Drake’s ‘Toosie Slide’ and Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘WAP’ to Tyler, The Creator’s ‘EARFQUAKE.’ (A personal favorite of mine is Gorillaz’s ‘Feel Good Inc.’)

In fact, if you are a fan of Zeuz Makes Music, you’d have noticed the lo-fi version of ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ made it to his YouTube channel days before Lil Nas X’s unveiled it on his.
