Hasitha Boyagoda - The Winner of 2018

Hasitha Boyagoda became a sensation when he emerged as the first Under-19 World Cup player to hit a highest score of 191 when he achieved the feat against Kenya and is a special product of Trinity College.

He was the Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year in 2018 and after the Youth World Cup in 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named him as the rising star of the squad. The 22-year old Boyagoda is a specialist right hand batsman who also played for Kandy in the Super Provincial tournament and NCC. He made his T20 debut for Dambulla that same year and turned out for NCC in the first class Premier League championship. Same year he was also named in the Sri Lanka team for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup tournament in Bangladesh.

When Sri Lanka won the Silver medal at the 2019 South Asian Games, Boyagoda was part of the team that lost to Bangladesh in the final.
