Ever since Halle and Chloe Bailey (better known by their joint stage moniker Chloe x Halle) decided to launch their separate social media accounts, the quantity of #qualitycontent the sisters are giving fans has more than doubled. Earlier last week, Halle launched her own Etsy jewelry store, and this weekend, Chloe posted a cover of The Weeknd’s hit song “Earned It.”
Chloe posted her cover to Twitter on April 18. The video finds her donning a bright red lip and clad in a wrap-around bandeau top with a neckline made of gold links and high-waisted jeans. And as breathtaking as her outfit is, her rendition of the song is even more so.
From her own home, Chloe manages to add her own flair to the R&B track with airy adlibs, a handful of added high notes, and some powerful moves to boot (though she is seated, this is the Chloe Bailey we’re talking about after all!)
“Earned It” was first released in 2014 as part of the official Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack and was later included in The Weeknd’s own album Beauty Behind the Madness in 2015 alongside the likes of “Acquainted” and “Can’t Feel My Face.” Though it’s been a while, we hope The Weeknd has not forgotten about this song and, who knows, maybe Chloe’s take will even prompt a remix?
