Three Leo Leaders win prestigious Intl awards

Three Sri Lankan Leo Leaders have won the Outstanding Leadership Award, the highest award given annually by the President of the International Lions Club.

The Distinguished Leadership Awards are given in recognition of their outstanding contribution to social welfare, their excellence as a leader, engaging in community activism as an exemplary character, as well as the leadership in organiing and directing various CSR and leadership training activities.

It is a rare opportunity for a country to receive the Leadership Award from the International President of the World's Most Active and Largest Services Organiation, covering more than 1.4 million worldwide.

This time three members of the Sri Lankan Leo Clubs were able to win this award at the same time. This is a great victory for Sri Lanka.

The International President's Leadership Award was presented to Leo Indunil Palihawadana, President of the Leo Club of Colombo Knights, Leo Sunera Lanerolle, President of the Leo Club of Ananda College, Colombo and Leo Tharindu Ranaweera, President of the Leo Club of Thurstan College, Colombo.

The former President of the International Lions Association Mahendra Amarasuriya while announcing these exceptional accolades, stated that this was a significant achievement for Sri Lanka and that it was able to showcase the talents of Sri Lankan youth to the world.
