SLT-Mobitel has stepped forward to provide relief to the Pollebadda Indigenous communities affected due to Covid-19 restrictions, in the Maha Oya Divisional Secretariat area in Ampara,  with dry rations recently.

SLT-Mobitel distributed 285 packs containing essential items providing a lifeline to over 285 families who were facing severe hardships due to their inability in obtaining daily needs. Providing all support towards this humane endeavor were the officials from the Ampara and Maha Oya Divisional Secretariats, especially the assistance of D.M.L. Bandaranayake, District Secretary Ampara and Maha Oya Additional District Secretary.

SLT-Mobitel has also introduced a meritorious initiative themed ‘Daana Paaramitha’ to help communities that were affected due to Covid-19. Pre-Paid and post-Paid customers can simply donate via SMS by simply typing ‘YES’ and sending it to 255. For every SMS Rs. 50 will be charged and in return, SLT-Mobitel will match all public donations and will double the funds collected. The funds collected will be used to distribute dry rations, medical supplies and relief kits to Sri Lankan communities in distress.  To-date, SLT-Mobitel has engaged in a series of programs to provide relief and assistance to all communities due to the challenging times faced as a result of the pandemic. SLT-Mobitel has been providing support to the front liners in the health services, donating medical equipment and personal protective equipment, ensuring comprehensive connectivity to the quarantine centers and providing uninterrupted services to government and private institutions affirming its commitment to the nation.
