20 June, 2021

A special Police team attached to the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) had grilled the leader of the Siva Sena Movement, Maravan Pulavu Satchchithananthan, at his residence in Jaffna on Thursday (17) on whether his movement has any links with the now defunct LTTE.

According to Satchchithananthan, he was questioned for nearly two hours and the Police sleuths had brought a questionnaire comprising 22 questions and wanted him to answer him those questions.

“I answered all questions put to me by the officials and even submitted some of the documents on my involvement with Siva Sena,an organization based in India,” Satchchithananthan said.

Satchchithananthan was in Tamil Nadu when the North and East conflict was in progress and rendered his support towards the welfare of the Lankan Tamil refugees who had come to South India crossing the Palk Straits.

Satchchithananthan retired after serving with the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
