The 2021 BET Awards took place in Los Angeles on June 27 at the Microsoft Theatre. Hosted by Oscar-nominated actor Taraji P. Henson this year’s theme was “The Year of the Black Woman” – and the event did not disappoint.
Black Entertainment Television is a celebration of Black people in TV, film, and music. Each year, the network honors the best of Black talent with its awards. This year, many of the biggest prizes went to Megan Thee Stallion, Jazmine Sullivan, Silk Sonic, and Queen Latifah, the honouree of the night. Although some of the talking points of the night were Cardi B’s pregnancy announcement, the DMX tribute, and Lil Nas X’s on-stage kiss, the fashion on display was just as buzz-worthy.
