New Sri Lanka football chief Jaswar Umar made an inspection tour of Kurunegala to asses the newly renovated Maligapitiya Football Ground yesterday.
He appreciated the great work done by the Mayor of Kurunegala Thushara Sanjeewa Vitharana and his team in renovating this ground to a playing standard.
He also reinstated the Kurunegala Football League that was discarded for six years in keeping with his election promise and concept under the slogan “ Let’s Re-start Football’. Jaswar is in the process of discussing with Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa the possibility of hosting an international football match in Sri Lanka. (AN)
