Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith paid his respects to the former Sports Editor of the Daily News and Consultant Editor Sunday Observer Dr. Elmo Rodrigopulle last Thursday at AF Raymond Parlour and conducted a brief prayer service before his funeral. In a short benediction Cardinal Ranjith declared: “God gave us life, Jesus Christ blessed our lives and life is not about what we can gain for ourselves but about what we can do for others.” Rodrigopulle died after a brief illness last Tuesday at the age of 80 ending a media career that spanned over five decades.
