MyMed Sathkara supports hospitals to battle Covid-19

28 July, 2021

The Covid-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka has led hospitals to function beyond their limits and resources. As Sri Lanka’s first and pioneering crowd funded medicine donation platform, ‘MYMED SATHKARA’ has volunteered to help hospitals by offering donations, medical equipment and the needful to combat the crisis. The donations by MyMed Sathkara were offered to Negombo District General Hospital, Homagama Base hospital and Horana Base hospital where the needs were critical. It is noteworthy that several individuals and entities rallied with MyMed Sathkara to donate to hospitals and some contributed more than thrice – due to the trust and transparency MyMed Sathkara provides.

MYMED SATHKARA was founded for those battling serious illnesses like cancer, cardiovascular, neuro and kidney diseases whilst facing financial difficulties in obtaining the medicines required. The necessity of such service is essential in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic which has left many daily wage earners unemployed. This has resulted in many families financially paralyzed and helpless in getting the needed medication for their loved ones. MyMed Sathkara offers feasible solutions by considering many factors.

To identify patients who are financially challenged, Mymed Sathkara has partnered with leading organizations such as Cancer Care Association SL, Samasthalanka Kidney Patients Association, National Council for Mental health and other related bodies. These organizations will provide verified and vetted prescriptions to ensure that all medication is received by those who truly deserve it. Also, the platform extends its service for nutritional support like vitamins, dietary supplements, etc to help with overall health and wellbeing.

MYMED SATHKARA is open to all parts of the world and looks forward to offering support to those who need it.
