‘Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Awards’ launched

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce launched the ‘Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2021 (BCCS Awards)’, for the eighteenth consecutive year. Each application evaluated by Sri Lanka’s experts in the sustainability sector.

The Chamber has considered the Covid-19 pandemic that affected corporates and the sustainability in 2020 and adopted an improved evaluation criteria in this year’s Awards. It highlights the need to mainstream business emergency preparedness, resilience, and stakeholder management in the core business to meet unforeseen challenges. The Chamber has introduced Awards for corporates that have successfully demonstrated resilient practices in the Covid-19 context.

The Chamber continues its commitment to support and encourage businesses to prosper even during these trying times. The BCCS Awards will play a vital role in inspiring businesses and to uphold their morale.

The Awards are not only for large corporations, but is a holistic competition which encourages efforts of smaller enterprises as well. It recognises the efforts of the private and public sector to interact responsibly with its stakeholders, through recognising the importance of corporate sustainability in Sri Lanka.

Focal areas of the competition include environment, customer relations, community relations, governance, financial performance, and economic contribution.

The Chamber expects to conduct the preliminary briefing on the application process on August 12  at 2.00 pm via MS Teams and the updates of BCCS Awards 2021 will be posted on its social media platforms to create awareness among prospective applicants.

The program will be conducted on a digital platform.
