Desert in a box craft: Biome diorama

29 August, 2021

Materials needed

*A recycled clear `plastic box (takeaway containers will work well, as long as the top is clear)
*Sand
*Yellow A4 card/ Cardboard
*Printout/Stickers/Drawings of camels and palm trees
* Glue, Sticky clear tape
*Double-sided tape

This is how  you can make it

1. Cut out the A4 card or cardboard to fit the bottom of the box.

2. Stick cut outs of the camels and palm trees on to it. These should ideally be small, to create perspective.

3. Put a little glue on the card to create a sand dune and sprinkle sand on it.

4. Once the sand is dry, attach the card to the bottom of the box using glue or tape.

5. Stick a cut out of a larger camel or palm tree on the lid of the box (from the inside), using clear tape or double-sided tape.

6. Fill the box with enough sand to hide most of the camels in the back.
Your craft is complete! Now you can move the sand around in the box to watch the camels disappear. This craft also makes a good keepsake or gift.
