Rise of Star Bastion

17 October, 2021

The sea side rampart wall of the Star Bastion had collapsed more than 100 years ago. Dutch engineers had designed the width of the foundation about four metres. But it was not sufficient due to the slope of the bedrock of that area. Under the Strategic Cities Development Program, engineers checked the condition of the bedrock and designed the width of the foundation of the rampart wall about six metres. The rampart wall was constructed using stone boulders with lime, sand and crushed tiles up to 17 metres from the ground level.
