Police are looking to question the husband of Kenyan Olympic runner and two-time world championship bronze medalist in the 10,000 metres, Agnes Tirop who was found dead at her home on Wednesday with stab wounds.

Her un-named husband is reported to have told Tirop’s family in a phone call that he had asked “God’s forgiveness crying for something he had done.”

The international media reported that the 25-year-old Tirop was found dead at her home in Iten in western Kenya, a town renowned as a training base for distance runners, with stab wounds in her abdomen and neck.
