The Monetary Policy Consultative Committee (MPCC) of the Central Bank (CB) has been reconstituted from October 5.
The reconstituted MPCC comprises 12 personalities from the private sector and academia and is chaired by former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank and a Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, Sunil Lankathilake. The other members are: Dhamitha Cooke, Niranjan Dissanayake, Christopher Joshua, Prof. Sunanda Madduma Bandara, Ashroff Omar, Ashok Pathirage, Dhammika Perera, Jeyam Perumal, Dr. Kulatunga Rajapaksa, Rusiripala Tennekone and Ms. Kasturi Chellaraja Wilson.
The primary role of this Consultative Committee is to represent the views and sentiments of the private sector and academia on developments in the monetary policymaking process.
