DSI Tyres recently donated Philips Multipara Monitors to the value of Rs. 4.8 million to the Gampaha District General Hospital. The donation was made on the initiative of Ranatunga Rajapakse, Managing Director of DSI Samson Group (Pvt) Ltd. Coming at a time when the country is battling virulent strains of Covid-19 it was felt timely and relevant. The Monitors were handed over through the intervention of Dr Shiran Dias at a ceremony presided by M. H. Wasantha (General Manager of Human Resources at Samson Rubber Products), Amitha Kumara Lokuwithanage (Assistant General Manager of Human Resources) as well as Dr Saman Senanayake, Dr Mahesh and Dr Ileperuma.

The Multipara Monitor indicates Heart rate, Central venous pressure, Non-invasive blood pressure, ECG, Oxygen saturation (SpO2) and Partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2). These monitors are crucial to Intensive Care Unit and contribute much towards the national campaign against virulent diseases such as COVID 19. The donation was thus felt as a much needed intervention by hospital officials.

“At a turbulent time like this, when everyone is in the throes of a dangerous virus, we are ready to come forward and help everyone get through,” said Ranatunga Rajapakse.
