St. Anthony’s College Kandy player Asen Bandara is closing in on Dunith Wellalage from St. Joseph’s College in the third count of the Sunday Observer-SLT Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year while schoolgirl Chushadi Kaushalya from Dharmapala College Pannipitiya has a clear lead ahead of Nimesha Tharuni from Marapola MV in the Gampaha district.
Wellalage has received 5.188 votes while Bandara has polled 4,856 votes.
Nimesha is however well ahead in the Most Popular Schoolgirl category with 2,901 votes while in second place is Nimesha who has 2,337 votes.
