Sandahiru Seya to commemorate fallen heroes

The Sandahiru Seya in Anuradhapura built to commemorate the fallen heroes who made the supreme sacrifice for the unity of Sri Lanka was consecrated and offered to the custodianship of the Sasana and the Maha Sangha at a ceremony held under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Thursday, November 18. It also marked the President’s second anniversary in office. The Prime Minister, the founding architect of the project, also celebrated his 76th birthday on the same day. The Prime Minister’s wife Shiranthi Rajapaksa was also present.
