Fly Lankan to operate flights to the Maldives

The new start-up airline, Sri Lanka’s third international operator Fly Lankan will launch operations with flights to the Maldives by the end of the month, Fly Lankan’s CEO Dr. Arosha Fernando said at a meeting at the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives in Colombo. The Ambassador of the Maldives to Sri Lanka, Omar Razak was also present. “As per our business model, we are in discussions with OSM Holdings Group, Global Park and Galactic Holdings to partner with us in our Maldivian operation,” the CEO said.

He said that the airline will launch operations with flights to six international destinations after the Maldives including India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia and UAE. The airline will launch operations in two phases. Under the first phase, operations are expected to begin in January to the aforementioned six destinations. Operations under the second phase will commence in March, with additional destinations.
