SLT-Mobitel Customer Club Kandy supports children’s education

The SLT-Mobitel Customer Club Kandy presented school supplies and renovated a section of the Wedaruwa Sri Rahula Primary Vidyalaya, Teldeniya recently.

The donation consists of school uniforms and school utensils for all students, a computer with a UPS, sports items, books for the school library, masks for all students, gifts for teachers and scholarships for talented children.

The Club also renovated the school’s shrine room and established an environment-friendly open-air classroom for the school.

Anunayaka Ven. Wedaruve Upali Thera, GM, Central Province, Anuruddha Rathnayaka, GM Marketing Service, Anuruddha Suriarachchi, DGM Central Province, Mangala Bandaranayake,  members of the Customer Club Kandy and officials of SLT-Mobitel were also present. In keeping its commitment to support children, the Customer Club Kandy, had previously donated an ICU bed to the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Specialised Children›s Hospital. SLT-Mobitel Customer Clubs were initiated in 2016, enabling the organisation to partner with loyal customers to carry out social responsibility projects. Among the many initiatives that have been conducted by the Clubs include contributing to uplifting education, supporting clean drinking water and sanitation projects and mitigation of climate change impact towards building a more sustainable future. Moreover, such projects help SLT-Mobitel fulfils its commitments to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
