Saunders edged out Cooray Park 1-0 to keep their hopes alive in the under-19 inter club football tournament for the Expolanka Youth Cup at the City Football League ground yesterday.
After a barren first half Saunders put up a splendid performance by dominating all departments to score the winning goal.
Saunders changed their playing tactics in the second half and capitalized on the lapses of their rivals as striker Mohamed Umar who was revolving around the goal box area chipped in off a rebound ball in the 44th minute of the game to break the deadlock. In the other games Fergasam beat Viking 2-0 with MSM Shifan and YA Azwan scoring the goals while the match between Black Square and Baddowita ended in a scoreless draw.
