The Kandy District Cricket Association (KDCA) announced that 20 teams will be in the fray in their inter-club division III tournament set to begin on April 20.
A total of 40 matches will be played in the tournament ending on May 25.
The KDCA committee hopes this tournament will give the sport a big boost in the city. Prisons SC, Blue Universal SC, Kandy Bloomfield CC, Liverpool SC, Kandy Youth CC, Kandy Zeylanikans CC, Old Antonians SC, Southerland SC, Kandy CC, Visuvious SC, Old Trnitians SC, Black Eagle CC, Ekamuthu SC, Galagedera CC, Madawala CC, Old Zahirians SC, Saracens CC, Gampola CC, Sylvestrians CC and Old Rajans SC are the teams participating.
The tournament will be played in a 50-over format under the auspices of Sri Lanka Cricket. Some of the top cricketers of Kandy district will be seen in action. KDCA secretary Janaka Pathirane will spearhead the organising committee.
