Defending champions Maris Stella College Thimbirigaskatuwa, Hindu College Bambalapitiya, Methodist Central Batticaloa and Wickramabahu National School Gampola advanced to the quarter-finals in the division III inter school cricket tournament.
Maris Stella beat Lalith Athulathmudali MV Mount Lavinia by 22 runs according to the parabola method and Hindu College beat Kadawatha Central by 49 runs at Ragama in the pre-quarter-finals played on Friday (6).
Methodist Central beat Killinochchi Central by 116 runs and Wickramabahu NS beat Jinaraja Boys College Gampola by eight wickets in the other pre-quarter-finals.
