The Batticaloa Municipality engaged in a cleanup of the Sinna Urani and Kallady Uppodai cemeteries recently. Accordingly the assistance of heavy machinery, health labourers, members of Sinna Urani Rural Development Society, Women RDS, Sun Rise Sports Club and Kayalveli Youth Club. In Kallady Uppodai the trustees and members of Pechchiyamman Temple and members from social organisations were deployed in the operation. The cleanup campaign was headed by the Batticaloa Mayor, Thiagaraja Saravanapavan, Deputy Mayor Kanthasamy Sathiyaseelan and councilors.
