Vesak was celebrated at the Mangalaramaya, Pansala Road, Batticaloa, Buddhist Middle Centre Jeyanthipura Vihara, Batticaloa, the Senior DIG premises, the Batticaloa DIG premises at Lady Manning Drive, Batticaloa SSP Office premises at Pioneer Road, Batticaloa and the Headquarters Police Station, Batticaloa. The premises were decorated with Buddhist flags, Vesak lanterns and multi-colour illuminated bulbs. DIG Batticaloa, Dinesh Karunanayake, SSP Batticaloa District, Suthath Mashinghe, SSP Batticaloa Division, L.R. Kumarasiri, ASP Eravur and HQI Batticaloa, K. Hettiarachchi and other Police officers were manned the dansala with corianderr water and gram to passes-by and foreign visitors at SSP’s office.
