Kalumunthanveli agricultural village, Poraitivu Pattu was declared an agricultural technological model village under the instructions of the Eastern Province Governor and the Agricultural Department. Agricultural implements were handed over to needy farmers in the area by Batticaloa Government Agent K.Karunakaran
