Sri Lanka will extend its fullest support to upgrade cricket in Japan, Irrigation, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Roshan Ranasinghe said.
Minister Ranasinghe said so when he met the Head of Mission, Japanese Embassy in Sri Lanka, Katsuki Kotaro in Colombo on Thursday.
The Minister thanked the Japanese Government for assisting to set up the National Youth Service Council in 1983.
Kotaro said that Japan has now paid attention to improve the standard of cricket.
Discussions were held to recommence the youth exchange program between Sri Lanka and Japan and also the Nippon-Maru program.
