The second annual limited over cricket encounter between Vidyaloka College and St Aloysius College Galle will be played on Sunday at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
The fifth year experience player Chamith Shiran will lead the Vidyaloka team while third year player Yasith Deshan will be the deputy skipper of the side .
Meanwhile St Aloysius will be captained by Dulmin Dasun the experience all rounder while Adithya Yapa will be the deputy skipper to strengthen the side.
Vidyaloka College principal Prasanna Seneviratne said this annual battle mainly focuses on developing friendship between the two schools.
“We couldn’t have the Galle stadium due to the Asustralia and Pakistan Test series and now the time has come to showcase the lalents found in the two schools,” said Seneviratne.
Vidyaloka’s cricketers are forced to put up with limited facilities but strive hard to rub shoulders with the top teams in the inter-school under-19 championship.
Thusitha Kariyawasam the coach and master in charge L.R Manathunga have always being around to encourage the Vidyaloka team.
St Aloysius principal Anura Gamage, coach Malaka de Silva and master in charge W.H Lakshman have thrown their weight behind the succeed of the St Aloysius team.
Former First Class cricketers D Bodhiyabaduge and Thamara Abeyratne will officiate as on-field umpires.
