Unbeaten Maris Stella College Thimbirigaskatuwa emerged champions for the second consecutive year in the U-19 Division III Tier ‘B’ limited overs cricket tournament.
Unbeaten Maris Stella College beat Ananda National School Puttalam by nine wickets in the final played at St. Joseph’s College ground Darley Road last week.
Sent in to bat first Ananda NS Puttalam were bowled out for 78 runs in 26.4 overs. Prabashana Silva was the destroyer claiming six wickets for just nine runs with his left arm orthodox bowling.
Maris Stella scored 79 runs for one wicket in 15.2 overs to win the match as Eshan Fernando scored 29 not out and Suwahas Yapa made 26 not out.
