Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo emerged champions of the Colombo Zonal Inter School Girls’ Softball Cricket Tournament, organized by the Colombo Zonal Education Office recently.
Fifteen teams participated in this tournament at Seevali ground Borella and Visakha Vidyalaya beat Bishop’s College by nine wickets in the final.
Earlier, Visakha beat St. Paul’s Milagiriya by 36 runs in the quarter-final and beat St. Claire’s Girls School Wellawatte by 111 runs in the semi-final. Visakha scored the highest total in the tournament with 145 runs.
Champions Visakha and runners-up Bishop’s College qualified to compete in the upcoming Western Province Inter Zonal Cricket (Girls) Championship Tournament which will be held at Colombo. (YK)
