Sri Lanka Under-19 cricketer Danal Hemananda dreams of becoming a professional cricketer and his role model is England player Sam Curran that he admires the most.

Last week, Hemananda stood up when it was most needed for his St. Peter’s College school team as he made a score of 81 and put on a partnership of 174 for the seventh wicket with Wanuja Kumara (102 not out) in their 48th annual one-day match against traditional foe St. Joseph’s College.

Hemananda in the process helped the Peterites extricate from a losing 61 for 6 to a match-winning total of 245 for 9 in 50 overs.
