Former Coordinating Secretary to the State Transport Ministry, Dr. Arosha Fernando has been appointed as the new Coordinating Secretary to the State Tourism Ministry on top of number of high posts currently being held by him.

Dr. Arosha who has six university degrees from Australia - two Bachelor’s degrees, three Masters Degrees and a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), is the only person to have such kind of highest number of academic qualifications as a Sri Lankan and is expected to play a vital role in developing the tourism sector in Sri Lanka in this crucial hour.

He was a senior member of the judge panel of the organising committee of ‘Mrs Tourism Sri Lanka 2022’ global Pageant which was successfully concluded recently at the Nelum Pokuna Auditorium.

Dr. Arosha who has 28 years of senior management experience in the local and international business field is currently the chairman of five other companies in Sri Lanka as well as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the third international airline in Sri Lanka, Fly Lankan Airlines.

He has held various senior Government positions including Working Director (WD) of ITN TV Channel and Lakhanda Radio Channel under the Ministry of Media, Senior Consultant at Ceylon Fisheries Harbour Corporation under the Ministry of Fisheries, Senior Consultant at the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka that directly comes under the President to name few of the senior Government positions during the past 15 years.
