In an under-19 Tier B inter-school limited overs cricket tournament match played between St. Peter’s College and Ananda College at Bambalapitiya yesterday, Peterite Vishen Helambage was the star with the bat as he scored 141 in a total of 336 as his team won comfortably.
Helambage was supported by a superb unbeaten fifty from skipper Nimuthu Gunawardena who scored his second consecutive half century while opener Oween Salgado produced a fantastic 80.
Ananda never came to grips with the run chase and were bowled out for low score of 146 in 37 overs with Sean Roberts (2 for 29), Vishen Halambage (3 for 52) and Shannon Rodrigo (2 for 15) doing the damage.
