Sri Lanka to contest World Indoor Cricket in Australia

A strong Sri Lanka team will contest the Indoor Cricket World Cup of 2022 hosted by Cricket Australia from October 8 to 15.

Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Sri Lanka, UAE, Malaysia and Singapore are the nine teams in the fray.

The matches will be played as 16-over games and each team comprises of 12 players of which two are substitute players. The pitch is the usual 22 yards and each player is entitled to bowl two overs. For every wicket that falls five runs is deducted from the score and the non-striker’s crease is halfway down the wicket. The indoor cricket surface is 12 meters X 30 meters and has a height of 4.5 meters.

After the toss, before the start of the match, the batting team has to announce four pairs of batters after which the fielding team also has to declare four pairs of bowlers.
