The Mercantile Volleyball Championship concluded last Sunday under two categories for men and women as Novices and Professionals. The men’s Pro was won by Unichela while the women’s Pro category was won by Hirdaramani. These two winners in this category defeated Maliban Group of Companies 3-2 (25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 22-25, 15-11) and MAS Casualine (3-1) (28-30, 25-15, 25-19, 25-16)
In the men’s Novices category Unichela Slimline Division beat Best Pacific Textiles 3-2 (26-28, 25-17, 16-25, 26-24, 15-10) while the women’s category saw Omegaline Sports Club beat Maliban Group of Companies 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-13).
Mohammed Meesan of (Oceanlanka) and S.G.D.H. Senarathne (Hirdaramani Industries) were declared as Best Players In the men’s and women’s Pro category.
Best Player: E.M.K.N. Sandaruwan (Slimline Division) and Chamari Monica (Omegaline Sports Club) won the Best Player Awards for men and women Novices respectively.
