The Dalada perahera or pageant in Kandy carries the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha. It is one of the most noble and traditional events for Sri Lankans. People eagerly await to see this fantastic perahera. Whip crackers begin the start of the perahera followed by fireball acrobats. Fancy dressed elephants and tuskers make up the most beautiful part of the perahera that also has troops of dancers who are also very eye-catching. Children and adults watch the perahera happily.
